Leader: Blessed be the Lord God of Israel,

All: For God has visited and redeemed the people!

Leader: He has sent us a mighty Savior from the royal line of his servant David, just as he promised through his holy prophets long ago.

All: Because of God’s tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us, to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death. He will guide our feet into the way of peace.

Call to Confession

Unison Prayer of Confession

Merciful and Just God, we confess the many ways our lives are not under Christ’s rule. Although you have rescued us many times, we continue to wander away from your vision and plan for us. We claim to be followers of Jesus, but our words and deeds deny the faith we proclaim. Deliver us from misplaced loyalties and unacknowledged sin. Forgive us and make us clean in the sacrificial blood of Christ. Raise us up to proclaim Jesus as ruler of all, that we may be loyal ambassadors for his kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Silent Prayer of Confession

Assurance of Pardon                                                                                  Pastor

God has been merciful in remembering his sacred covenant sworn on oath to our ancestor Abraham. He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.                                    Luke 2:72-73 and Colossians 1:13
