Leader: How long, O Lord? Will you forget us forever? How long will you hide your face from us?

All: How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and every day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?

Leader: Look on us and answer, O Lord our God. Give light to our eyes and hope to our hearts. We trust in your unfailing love; our hearts rejoice in your salvation.

All: Remembering your great mercy, I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you established your faithfulness in heaven itself.

Leader: Then we will sing of the Lord’s great love forever, with our mouths we will make your faithfulness known through all generations.

All: Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, O Lord. They rejoice in your name all day long, for you are their glory and strength!

Call to Confession

Unison Prayer of Confession

Just and merciful God, we were once slaves to sin, impurity, and lawlessness. We admit that even now we sometimes think you have forgotten us or we forget what you expect of us. We make wrong choices amid the trials of life, and we slip into sinful living. We are ashamed of our thoughts, words, and actions that lead to eternal doom. We confess our sins and repent, turning to faith, accepting your free gift of salvation, which leads to eternal life in Christ. In His name we pray, Amen.

Silent Prayer of Confession

Assurance of Pardon                                                                                                      Pastor

But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.                                                   Romans 6:22-23

We can offer to God only what we have been given. God may require our dearest treasure, for what we have is lent to us only for a time. What God has provided, we are now invited to invest in disciple-making for Christ.
